We recently visited New York to check out some new brands, meet suppliers and for some general aimless rambling around. We spent 2.5 days walking around Chelsea, Soho, the Village and Brooklyn. The energy was immense Even though it was memorial day wkend and a lot of people had gone down to the coast, the city buzzed and had a frantic pulse. There was me thinking London was busy. It's a great city. The urban jungle has a charm to it. Not somehwhere I'd want to live but I'd love to spend a 2 month spell in the Summer here really getting to know the city and taking long drives out Upstate at wkends.
Here a few places we visited.
The Standard High Line: A great hotel in the hip meatpacking district. A tad noisy though.
Morgenstern Ice Cream : Great Ice cream. Be prepared to wait in line.
Heart Beet Juicery: Was recommended by a Brit working in NYC. The juice craze is definitely much bigger out there
Soul Cycle: Had to see what the craze about it is. Very cult like!
Soho is generally a cool area to shop .
Byredo : Byredo's 1st boutique in the USA.
Soho House Rooftop Pool: Nothing better than the rooftop pool on a very hot summer day.
