We were very fortunate to get invited to Hotel Post in Bezau Austria which is home to the Susanne Kaufmann spa recently to learn more about the products and philosophy behind Susanne Kaufmann. We decided to make a short break out of it and extended our stay to incorporate some well deserved R and R after a long year. Bezau is a lovely village in the
Bregenz Forest. Its literally a breath of fresh air for anyone from a big city. In the mountains, close to hiking trails and ski resorts, the air is so clean you could bottle it up and sell it. It also feels quite remote. We flew into Zurich and then drove a hire car across the border and up into the mountains along some hair raising roads. We were also lucky enough to actually have Susanne herself give us the introduction to the brand and tell us about the history. One lesson I picked up is it takes time to build something great but with passion and persistence its remarkable what you can achieve. The brand was started in 2003 with 24 products with the emphasis on using organic products grown in the surrounding areas but creating products that were while natural, still effective. We were blown away by the beauty and serenity of Bezau and the hospitality of everyone at Hotel Post and Susanne Kaufmann. It is highly recommended for anyone who wants a few days to completely unwind and get away from it all.
