Bellocq No. 18 Afghani Chai Loose Leaf Tea

• A hand-crafted, evocative blend of organic Assam black tea, green cardamom, star anise, ginger, clove, and black pepper. This invigorating Afghani Chai Tea from Bellocq may be either steeped or traditionally boiled in water with milk. (Add a handful of chopped fresh ginger for additional heat, and sweeten to taste). Fragrant and seductive masala chai is perfect to enjoy anytime and makes the home smell utterly divine

• To Brew:

• 1 tsp loose leaf tea per 8 oz / 250 ml of water

• (90°C / 195°F) Bring fresh, cold filtered or spring water to a boil. Remove from heat and then set aside for 30 seconds before using to steep

• Brew for 4-6 minutes, using a metal tea infuser or a paper filter from Bellocq to create your own tea bags

• Good for 2 infusions

• To Simmer:  

• Apply the same quantity as you would with regular steeping. Bring water to boil. Add tea (and fresh ginger) and boil for 3 minutes. Add milk and boil for an additional 2 minutes. Strain and add sweetener, if desired
